Just got back from a week long trip to Varadero, Cuba. This is my 3rd time in Cuba and I absolutely love it there. Amazing people, culture and history. The beaches are phenomenal and the weather is perfect! The food in Cuba is quite bland, but the endless amount of seafood and rice and beans make up for the lack of spices used. I definitely got my fish intake for an entire month considering how much I ate, also the pina colada’s were up there in high intake 😉 One thing I thoroughly enjoyed was fresh lobster! Here in Canada I never buy lobster because it’s bloody expensive, but in Cuba it is cheap and super fresh!! Unfortunately our resort didn’t serve lobster but we went out to a few restaurants in the town and had some lovely lobster dinners.

Inspired by my trip, here is a fabulous lobster recipe:
Broiled Lobster Tails with Garlic Butter Sauce 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted melted butter, plus more for clarified butter (Annie also tells you how to clarify butter….) 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon white pepper Fresh lemon wedges for garnish, plus lemon juice to taste 1. Place an oven rack in the medium position and preheat the broiler. 2. Place the prepared lobster tails on a foil-lined baking sheet. 3. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, paprika, garlic powder, white pepper, and salt. 4. Using a silicone brush, gently brush the lobster tails thoroughly with the butter mixture. 5. Broil the lobster tails until opaque and cooked-through. ** My broiler took about 10 minutes to accomplish this. 6. Sprinkle with fresh lemon juice, if using, and serve immediately with clarified butter. Share on Facebook
